This is a sound moderator aka “silencer” for an airgun or paintball gun. Pump-up airguns in particular make a lot of noise as the air rushes out, and the moderator cotains a series of what are called “K Baffles” (see cutaway one in the photo) that slow it down so that it does not make a sharp >Crak!< The pellet goes unimpeeded down the middle, and may even slightly gain velocity. This design is remarkably efficient.

Supersonic projectiles will always go crack anyway and a silencer is pretty pointless with them. Firearms are likely to blow the silencer to bits.

  4. I don’t think you realize just how horrible of an idea making this is.

    The ATF has explicitly stated that a paintball or airsoft silencer that can be readily adapted to a firearm such that it can reduce the shot signature by even 1 dbl for even one shot is a silencer under the NFA. A slip on silencer like that is going to get somebody landed in the grey bar hotel.

  5. ATF also says that as long as you follow their rules you can make your own. Namely you MUST have a form-1 filled out, signed by your CLEO, submitted, tax stamp paid, AND RETURNED IN YOUR HANDS before you construct one, or even get the parts (constructive possession).

    You can legally use that file just as you can legally use a gun.

  6. I was looking closer at this and noticed your blast chamber is a bit small. The blast chamber is the most important one, it is also the first chamber that will be entered. The larger it is the better it will work.

    Take a look at this one, which is one of the most effective rifle suppressors. Its blast chamber is massive, to keep overall length down it slips further over the barrel.
