From 3ders.org : Thingiverse, Makerbot's site has taken down a number of blueprints for gun parts, including the "Reinforced AR-15 Lower Receiver" from gunsmith Michael Guslick aka HaveBlue. "MakerBot's focus is to empower the creative process and make things for good," wrote Makerbot spokesperson Jenifer Howard to Forbes.

Really appreciate that this site has been set up in response. Hopefully continued research and improvement on the files can continued unfettered.
Are there any steps users should take to back anything up in case this site goes down?
